We are very excited to introduce the latest addition to our diagnostic equipment. This fully automated digital retinal camera provides clear, wide-field views of the back of the eye, with superior images of the macula and optic nerve head to aid in the early diagnosis of eye disease. The camera captures images in seconds without the need for dilating drops and even in the presence of dense cataracts. Images will be saved and used for future comparison of the eyes most important structures. Retinal images will be emailed to you at the conclusion of your exam to retain for your personal records and to share with other health care providers. We are now making digital retinal photographs part of our routine care for patients aged 8 and up. This will improve our ability to detect and monitor eye disease, and complies with minimizing close proximity for eye evaluation.
